President Mutharika paying lasst respects to late Snr Chief Kabudula

President Peter Mutharika has described late Traditional Authority Kabudula as a selfless and hardworking leader who encouraged development in his area.

The President said the late Chief was very dependable as he mobilized his subjects to take part in development activities.

President Mutharika spoke through his advisor on policy issues Hon Hetherwick Ntaba.

According to President Mutharika, the late chief served the Democratic Progressive Party-DPP government with diligence.

Chief Kabudula has been a very reliable and selfless leader in all development activities that we undertook since he was installed chief,” said the President.

The Malawi leader said the late Senior Chief was dependable as he worked with the government of the day.

The late Chief served this nation in various capacities and as a leader in his area, he dedicated his life public service in order to develop the area,” he added.

The President also advised the royal family to be careful when choosing the next kind so as to avoid chieftaincy wrangles.

Speaking earlier, representative of the bereaved royal family, TA Masumbankhunda described the late chief as a very loyal person who associated with everybody irrespective of status.

Representative of Kalonga Gawa Undi, the Chewa Supreme Chief, also advised the royal family to tread careful on the issue of selecting the new chief to avoid wrangles.

Senior Chief Kabudula was elevated to the position in 2015.

The Chief has been sick since 11 November 2015 and he died on Monday this week at Kamuzu Central Hospital.
